OUR PURPOSE
Calamity Creek Traders began 17 years ago
as a small, home-based jewelry design company
in the Texas Hill Country. At Calamity Creek Traders,
we continue to design beaded jewelry, and offer our one-of-a-kind items
(Check 'em out on our "COWGIRL ROOM"  page).
Our love of the outdoors and things TEXAN inspires and enhances this website.
An executive decision was made in 2004
to expand our horizons, our inventory, and our visibility:
Texas IS a big state, but the time had come to go GLOBAL!
This is a land of Survival of the Fittest,
of learning how to make do with what is on hand,
of learning the signs of Nature.

Calamity Creek and the vastness surrounding it
has been part of our lives for many years.
It was only a natural progression to build our enterprise around its name.
We are always searching for high quality Texas decor items-
you can view our findings in the Marshal's Office.
Our beaded jewelry: beaded necklaces, earrings and bracelets
will always be available, always one-of-a-kind.
OUR NAMESAKE

The HEART of Calamity Creek Traders is out West,
in the land of the high Texas Chihuahuan Desert,
in the southern range of the Davis Mountains.

Calamity Creek is real.
Its headwaters can be found north of Alpine, Texas,
a small, remote college town and arts community.
Winding southward about 100 miles
through high desert mountains and hills,
Calamity Creek eventually empties into underground streams,
 all unltimately forming
Terlingua Creek north of Big Bend National Park.
In its remote, dry environs,
Calamity Creek is usually a small stream,
even dry in places.
But as ranchers along its path can tell you, it has a reputation. . .
